How Nếp works with your banking app
Nếp is an expense log, not a payment service. It reads a VietQR code on the user's iPhone, saves the expense, then hands the transfer to the user's own banking app. The user confirms every transfer there.
Not a payment intermediary
Nếp never holds, routes or settles funds. It has no merchant account and no access to bank accounts.
No bank credentials
Users never log in to a bank inside Nếp. Nếp uses no bank API and stores no card or account passwords.
Log stays on the device
The expense log is kept on the iPhone, with optional backup to the user's own iCloud. Ordin Studio runs no server that holds it.
Data flow
Four steps, one handoff
Only step 3 involves your app. Nothing in Nếp happens after the handoff.

Scan
The user scans a VietQR code. Nếp reads the EMVCo payload on the iPhone.

Save
The user checks the amount and category. Nếp saves the expense first.

Hand off
Nếp opens the chosen banking app by one of three methods below.

The user reviews and authenticates the transfer inside the banking app.

Banks not listed open the same way as the third method when their app is installed. A bank team can tell us which link format it supports and we will test it on a real device before release.
